Grants Ministry

Stewarding Donors’ Legacies

Texas Methodist Foundation’s Grants Ministry shepherds the wishes and aspirations of donors who unite their faith and funds to respond to the needs of their communities. TMF becomes a partner in ministry with donors and grantees, stewarding a world of potential together.

Grants support churches and nonprofits whose work meaningfully contributes to the communities they serve. Beginning with the belief in the abundance of God’s gifts and grace, we take an asset-based approach by asking donors what vision their charitable legacy holds for the world, and asking grant recipients how they use their gifts to realize that shared vision.

Impact Story

Supporting Families Facing Childhood Cancer

Candlelighters of West Texas and New Mexico is there for families who have received the worst news you can imagine as a parent – that your child has cancer. After the shock of the diagnosis comes the complicated challenge of treatment and maintaining a way of life.

Candlelighters provides the most comprehensive range of support services for families experiencing childhood cancer of any nonprofit in the country. They provide financial, psychosocial, and therapeutic programs that address the holistic needs families have during pediatric cancer, getting through the difficult times to a new normal.

Through its grants, TMF is a critical partner enabling Candlelighters to provide continuity and stability to the families they support, 80% of which are low-income and otherwise wouldn’t be able to access any services like Candlelighters.
